Product Information

Full details

The Likit Granola Multigrain is designed for horse owners looking to provide mental stimulation and environmental enrichment for their animals in the stable. It serves as an excellent tool for reducing boredom and curbing destructive stable habits by providing a challenging, long-lasting snacking experience. While this treat is highly effective for keeping horses occupied, it is important to note that it requires a compatible Likit accessory to function as intended and is not meant to be fed as a primary source of nutrition.

FAQs

Can I feed this without a holder?

It is not recommended. The treat is designed to be held in place so the horse has to work to consume it; leaving it loose may lead to the horse eating it too quickly.

Is this a complete nutritional meal?

No, this is a treat and enrichment tool. It should not replace your horse's primary hay or forage ration.

How long does one refill last?

Durability depends entirely on the horse's level of interest and how persistent they are, but generally, it is designed to last significantly longer than standard loose treats.

What if my horse has dental issues?

Because the Granola is formulated to be rock-hard, you should consult with your veterinarian before use if your horse has known dental sensitivities or missing teeth.

Are these suitable for ponies?

Yes, they are suitable for ponies, provided they are capable of interacting with a standard Likit holder.

Troubleshooting

Horse ignores the treat

Try smearing a small amount of apple sauce or molasses on the surface to introduce the texture and flavor, encouraging the horse to start licking.

Treat keeps falling out of the holder

Check that the locking mechanism on your Likit Holder or Boredom Breaker is fully engaged and not obstructed by debris.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Significantly extends time spent eating
Effective at reducing stable boredom
Durable texture prevents quick consumption
Compatible with popular Likit accessory ecosystem

Cons

Requires a Likit Holder or Boredom Breaker to use
Not a complete feed replacement
May be too difficult for very young or geriatric horses with dental issues

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To begin, ensure you have a Likit Holder or a Likit Boredom Breaker correctly mounted in your horse's stable. The Likit Granola 550g unit is designed to lock securely into these devices. To install, simply slide or fasten the treat refill into the holder according to the specific device instructions. For care, store the refills in a cool, dry place to maintain the integrity of the rock-hard texture. Check your horse's stable equipment regularly to ensure the holder remains securely fastened and that no sharp edges have developed during the horse's interaction with the toy.
