Product Information
Full details
The ASICS Novablast 5 TR is designed for adult runners with a neutral stride seeking a versatile shoe for short to medium distances on both roads and light trails. Its key benefit lies in the trampoline-inspired sole and FFBLAST PLUS ECO foam, delivering exceptional bounce and energy return for a lively, responsive feel. A potential caveat is its suitability primarily for hybrid use, meaning it may not offer the specialized grip for highly technical off-road terrain. This shoe features a breathable jacquard mesh upper, a unique geometric design for smooth transitions, and enhanced durability on mixed surfaces.

FAQs
What type of runner is the ASICS Novablast 5 TR best for?
The Novablast 5 TR is ideal for neutral runners looking for a versatile shoe for short to medium distances. It performs well on roads and light trails.
How does the FF BLAST™ PLUS ECO foam benefit my run?
This foam provides lightweight, responsive cushioning that absorbs impact while delivering a high level of energy return, giving your stride a bouncy, propulsive feel.
Can I use these shoes for technical trail running?
The Novablast 5 TR is designed for hybrid use, meaning it handles roads and light trails well. For highly technical, rugged, or muddy terrain, a shoe with more aggressive lugs and specialized grip would be more appropriate.
What is the heel-to-toe drop of this shoe?
The heel-to-toe drop is 8 mm.
What does 'TR' stand for in Novablast 5 TR?
The 'TR' typically stands for 'Trail Ready,' indicating its enhanced suitability for mixed terrain compared to standard road models.
Are these shoes made with sustainable materials?
Yes, at least 75% of the upper is made from recycled materials, contributing to a more sustainable product.
How much do the shoes weigh?
The ASICS Novablast 5 TR weighs approximately 240 grams for a men's size 42.
Troubleshooting
Shoe feels too tight or causes pressure points.
Loosen the laces and re-lace, ensuring an even tension. Try different lacing techniques. If the issue persists, consider if the shoe size or width is appropriate for your foot.
Reduced cushioning or responsiveness over time.
The midsole foam may naturally compress with extended use. Ensure the shoes are clean and free from debris that might affect performance. Consistent use on very rough terrain can accelerate wear.
Slipping on wet surfaces.
While the AHAR™ LO outsole provides good grip, extreme wet conditions or very smooth surfaces can reduce traction. Use caution in such scenarios. The shoe is optimized for mixed terrain, not specialized wet-weather grip.
Upper material feels less breathable.
Ensure the mesh is clean and free from dirt or sweat buildup. If the shoes have been heavily soiled, a gentle cleaning may restore breathability.
