Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Your Lacoste Lerond Pro trainers come ready to wear. Simply unbox, adjust the classic lace-up fastening to your desired snugness, and you're set. New leather trainers may feel a little stiff initially, requiring a short break-in period to allow the leather to mould to your foot shape for optimal comfort.
Compatibility
These trainers are designed with versatility in mind. Their minimalist black low-top design makes them highly compatible with a wide range of apparel:
- Casual Wear: Pair with jeans, shorts, or joggers for a relaxed, everyday look.
- Smart-Casual: Combine with chinos, tailored trousers, or a casual blazer for an elevated, refined ensemble.
- Seasonal Adaptability: Suitable for year-round wear, though advisable to avoid heavy rain or snow to preserve the leather.
Care
Proper care will extend the life and maintain the pristine appearance of your leather trainers:
- Regular Cleaning: Gently wipe the premium leather upper with a soft, damp cloth to remove surface dirt and dust after each wear.
- Deep Cleaning (Leather): For more persistent dirt or scuffs, use a high-quality leather cleaner specifically designed for smooth leather. Apply sparingly with a clean cloth, following the product's instructions. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Conditioning: Periodically apply a leather conditioner to keep the leather soft, supple, and to prevent drying or cracking. This also helps maintain its luxurious feel.
- Drying: If trainers get wet, stuff them with newspaper to absorb moisture and maintain their shape. Allow them to air dry naturally at room temperature, away from direct heat sources (like radiators or sunlight), which can damage leather.
- Storage: Store trainers in a cool, dry place. Using shoe trees can help maintain their shape and absorb moisture when not in use. Avoid storing in plastic bags, which can trap moisture.
- Sole Care: Clean the vulcanised rubber sole with a brush or damp cloth to remove dirt and maintain optimal traction.
