Dulux Weathershield Undercoat - Grey

While the product description lists interior surfaces as a potential use, it is primarily formulated for exterior use with the Weathershield range for 10-year weather protection. For purely interior projects, a dedicated interior undercoat might be more suitable.

The recommendation is to apply two coats of Weathershield Quick Dry Undercoat to primed surfaces for the best results and durability.

The undercoat covers approximately 16 m² per litre on average.

While it can be used with other compatible top coats, the 10-year weather protection guarantee is specifically tied to using it with Dulux Weathershield Exterior Gloss or Satin.

You should wait a minimum of 2 hours and a maximum of 4 hours before applying the next coat (either another coat of undercoat or the top coat).

As it is a water-based paint, wash stained clothing immediately with soap and water. Dried paint may be more difficult to remove.

It is a water-based formula, which generally results in lower odour compared to solvent-based paints, making it more pleasant to use.

Ensure the surface was properly prepared (clean, dry, sanded if necessary) and that all previous coatings or contaminants were removed. Check compatibility with the surface material.

Apply paint more evenly, using smooth, consistent brush strokes. Ensure the undercoat is not drying too quickly on the surface. Consider using a higher quality brush appropriate for water-based paints.

This can occur if applied too thickly or if the surface expands/contracts significantly. Ensure proper preparation and apply thin, even coats. The flexible nature of the film should prevent this under normal circumstances.

Ensure application conditions meet the recommended temperature and humidity levels. Thick application can also slow drying. Avoid application in very humid or cold conditions.
