The Helly Hansen Seven J Jacket is a versatile, high-performance waterproof shell designed for women who need reliable protection during trekking, cycling, or daily city commutes. Utilizing Helly Tech Protection technology, it provides an excellent balance of breathability, windproofing, and waterproof durability for changing weather conditions, though it lacks an integrated insulated layer for extreme sub-zero temperatures.

Yes, it features Helly Tech Protection and sealed seams, making it fully waterproof and windproof.
It is a shell jacket and does not have insulation. It works great in winter if you layer it over a thermal mid-layer.
Machine wash in cold water with the zippers closed. Avoid fabric softeners and tumble dry on low to reactivate the DWR finish.
Yes, it features an integrated, adjustable hood for protection against rain and wind.
The 2-layer polyester construction is designed to be relatively soft, though some 'swish' is typical of technical waterproof fabrics.
The hand pockets are zipped, but they are not fully waterproof, so store electronics in a sealed bag inside the pocket if it is raining heavily.
The DWR treatment may have worn off; wash the jacket and apply a fresh water-repellent spray treatment.
Ensure you are using appropriate moisture-wicking base layers and adjust the sleeve/hem closures to increase airflow.
This jacket is designed as a standalone outer shell. To optimize performance in cold climates, pair it with a fleece or synthetic mid-layer. To maintain the waterproof DWR finish, machine wash the garment in cold water with a mild detergent and tumble dry on a low setting. Periodically reapplying a DWR spray can help maintain the fabric's water-shedding capabilities over time. Always close all YKK zippers and secure the hood/hem adjustments before washing to prevent damage to the hardware.
