Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Using your Nike Metcon 9 is straightforward:
- Lacing: Ensure laces are securely tied, providing a snug but comfortable fit to prevent foot movement during dynamic exercises.
- Break-in: While generally comfortable from the start, some users may find a short break-in period beneficial for the materials to fully conform to their foot shape. Wear them for lighter workouts initially.
Compatibility
- Activities: Best suited for gym training, weightlifting, CrossFit, high-intensity interval training (HIIT), and functional fitness.
- Surfaces: Optimized for indoor gym floors, weightlifting platforms, and short outdoor training sessions on hard surfaces.
- Not Ideal For: Long-distance running, trail running, or sports requiring highly flexible soles (e.g., certain court sports).
Care
Proper care extends the life and performance of your Metcon 9s:
- Remove loose dirt with a soft brush (e.g., old toothbrush).
- Wipe the mesh and rubber surfaces with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- For stubborn spots, a gentle scrub can be applied to the rubber tread.
- Do not machine wash or machine dry, as this can damage materials and adhesives.
- Drying: Air dry at room temperature. Avoid direct sunlight or heat sources.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use. Consider using shoe trees or stuffing with paper to maintain shape.
- Odor Control: Remove insoles to air out after intense workouts. Shoe deodorizers or baking soda in socks can help manage odors.
