Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Using your Hunter Original Short Wellington Boots is straightforward. Simply slide them on. Ensure you choose the correct UK size for optimal comfort. The adjustable strap allows for minor adjustments to the fit around your ankle.
Compatibility
These boots are primarily designed for adults and are compatible with various terrains including grass, mud, pavement, and gravel, especially in wet or damp conditions. They pair well with outdoor clothing, raincoats, and thick socks for added warmth and comfort in colder weather.
Care
Proper care will extend the life and maintain the appearance of your boots:
- Cleaning: Wipe down the rubber surfaces with a damp cloth and mild, soapy water after each use to remove dirt and mud. Avoid harsh detergents or abrasive materials.
- Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not place them near direct heat sources like radiators or in direct sunlight, as this can cause the rubber to dry out and crack.
- Storage: Store your boots upright in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Storing them folded or creased can lead to permanent damage.
- Addressing 'Bloom': Natural rubber products can sometimes develop a white, powdery film known as 'bloom'. This is a natural process and not a defect. It can be wiped away with a damp cloth or by using a specialist rubber boot buffer or silicone spray to restore the boots' original sheen.
- Lining Care: The polyester lining can be gently wiped clean with a damp cloth if needed.
