Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Getting started with your Regatta Kids Amble Boots is simple:
- Socks: Ensure your child is wearing appropriate socks, ideally moisture-wicking ones, for optimal comfort and to complement the boot's breathability.
- Lacing: Loosen the laces sufficiently so your child's foot can slide in easily without force.
- Fit: Once the foot is in, push the heel back to ensure a snug fit against the boot's heel cup.
- Tighten: Systematically tighten the laces from the bottom (toes) upwards, ensuring they are firm but not uncomfortably tight. There should be enough room for wiggling toes.
- Secure: Tie a secure double knot to prevent laces from coming undone during activity.
Compatibility
These boots are designed for:
- Adventurous Kids: Ideal for children who love exploring the outdoors, hiking, or simply playing vigorously outside.
- Diverse Activities: Suitable for walking, light hiking, school use, and everyday wear in varying weather conditions.
- All Seasons: While waterproof, they are best suited for cooler or wet conditions. In colder weather, pair with warm socks.
Care
Proper care will prolong the life and performance of your boots:
- Cleaning: After each use, especially if muddy, remove loose dirt with a soft brush or a damp cloth. For more stubborn grime, gently wash with lukewarm water. Avoid harsh detergents or abrasive cleaners.
- Drying: Always allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature, away from direct heat sources (like radiators or fireplaces) and direct sunlight. Stuffing them with newspaper can help absorb moisture and maintain shape.
- Waterproofing Maintenance: Over time, the outer synthetic material's water repellency may diminish. Periodically, you may wish to apply a suitable water-repellent spray designed for synthetic footwear to help maintain its protective qualities.
- Storage: Store boots in a cool, dry place when not in use.
