Setup
- Unpack: Carefully remove both the kettle and toaster from their packaging. Remove any protective films or ties.
- Initial Cleaning: Wipe down the exterior of both appliances with a damp cloth. For the kettle, fill it with clean water, boil, and then discard the water to remove any manufacturing residues. Repeat this 1-2 times.
- Placement: Place both appliances on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface away from water sources and flammable materials. Ensure sufficient clearance around the appliances for ventilation.
- Power: Plug each appliance into its own standard electrical outlet. Do not use extension cords if possible, and ensure the voltage matches your home's supply.
Compatibility
Both the HOMCOM kettle and toaster are designed for standard household electrical systems. They require a stable power supply and should not be used with adapters or converters unless explicitly rated for high-wattage kitchen appliances.
Care & Maintenance
- Cleaning the Kettle:
- Unplug and allow to cool completely.
- Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not immerse the kettle or its base in water.
- For descaling, use a specialized kettle descaler solution or a mixture of white vinegar and water. Fill the kettle, boil, let it sit for an hour, then rinse thoroughly multiple times.
- Cleaning the Toaster:
- Unplug and ensure it's cool.
- Pull out and empty the crumb tray regularly. Wipe the tray clean with a damp cloth.
- Use a soft brush (like a pastry brush) to gently dislodge any crumbs stuck inside the toaster slots (ensure it's unplugged!).
- Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Never use abrasive cleaners or scourers.
