Setup, Compatibility & Care
For a successful installation, follow these foundational steps:
- Preparation: Use a file or deburring tool to chamfer all pipe ends. This is critical to ensure the pipe does not cut the rubber gasket inside the fitting.
- Clean: Ensure all surfaces are free of debris or grit before assembly.
- Lubrication: Apply a silicon-based lubricant to the pipe end to facilitate a smooth push-fit connection into the socket.
- Expansion Gap: Always pull the pipe back by approximately 10mm after insertion to allow for thermal expansion.
- Roof Termination: If the stack terminates in a roof space, install an `AV110` Air Valve. For external roof penetration, use an `SP320` Weathering Slate to prevent water ingress.
- Maintenance: Periodically inspect pipe clips for tightness and ensure the vent terminal is clear of debris or bird nests.
