Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Using your Nike ACG Mountain Fly 2 Low Gore-Tex shoes is straightforward:
- Lacing: Ensure the laces are securely tied to provide a snug yet comfortable fit. Experiment with different lacing techniques to find what best suits your foot shape and activity.
- Initial Wear: Wear them for short periods initially to break them in, especially if you have sensitive feet.
Compatibility
- Activities: Ideal for urban walking, light hiking, casual wear, and travel.
- Foot Type: Designed for general adult foot types. For specific orthopedic needs, consult a professional.
- Terrain: Best suited for paved surfaces, groomed trails, and moderately uneven terrain. Not recommended for extreme rock climbing or deep snow.
Care
Proper care will extend the life and maintain the performance of your Gore-Tex shoes:
- Brush off loose dirt with a soft brush or cloth.
- Wipe down the exterior with a damp cloth and a small amount of mild soap (if necessary).
- Rinse with clean water. Do not use harsh detergents, bleach, or solvents.
- Clean the insoles separately if they are removable.
- Allow shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature.
- Avoid direct heat sources like radiators or direct sunlight, as these can damage the materials, especially the Gore-Tex membrane.
- You can stuff them with crumpled newspaper to absorb moisture and help maintain their shape.
- Waterproofing Treatment: Over time, the outer durable water repellent (DWR) finish may wear off. You can reapply a DWR treatment specifically designed for Gore-Tex footwear to maintain water beading on the surface.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
