Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Setting up your AirPods Max is straightforward, especially within the Apple ecosystem:
- Charge: Ensure your AirPods Max are charged by connecting them to the included Lightning to USB-C cable.
- Unbox & Activate: Remove AirPods Max from the Smart Case. This will automatically put them into pairing mode.
- Pair with Apple Devices: Hold your AirPods Max close to your iPhone or iPad. A setup animation will appear on your device's screen. Tap 'Connect' and follow the on-screen instructions. They will then automatically pair with all other Apple devices signed into the same iCloud account (macOS 11.1, iOS 14.3, iPadOS 14.3, watchOS 7.2, or tvOS 14.3 or later required).
- Pair with Non-Apple Devices: To pair with a non-Apple device (e.g., Android phone, Windows PC), press and hold the Noise Control button on the right ear cup until the status light flashes white. Then, select 'AirPods Max' from the Bluetooth settings on your device.
