Setup
- Load the Pack: Before fitting, load the pack with typical gear weight to simulate a real-world carry.
- Adjust Torso Length: Loosen the shoulder strap adjusters and slide the shoulder harness up or down until the top of the shoulder straps are approximately 2 inches below the top of your shoulders. The hipbelt should sit comfortably over your hip bones.
- Fit the Hipbelt: Fasten the hipbelt buckle. The padded part of the hipbelt should cover the top of your hip bones. Adjust the Custom Fit-on-the-Fly Hipbelt pads by pulling them forward or backward to ensure a snug, comfortable wrap around your hips, with even padding pressure.
- Fit Shoulder Straps: Tighten the Custom Fit-on-the-Fly Shoulder Straps until the pack rests comfortably against your back, and the load lifter straps (above your shoulders) form a 45-degree angle.
- Sternum Strap: Adjust the sternum strap height and tension for comfort across your chest.
- Load Lifters: Pull load lifter straps forward to bring the pack closer to your body and distribute weight effectively.
Compatibility
This 65L backpacking backpack is compatible with multi-day to week-long backpacking trips, thru-hiking (if capacity matches needs), and gear-intensive weekend excursions. It's designed for adults who require a robust system for carrying significant loads.
Care
- Cleaning: Hand wash only. Use a soft brush or sponge with mild soap and cool water. Rinse thoroughly. Do not use a washing machine or dryer, as this can damage the pack.
- Drying: Air dry completely in a shaded, well-ventilated area. Avoid direct sunlight or heat sources, which can degrade materials.
- Storage: Store the pack in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use. Ensure it is completely dry before storing to prevent mildew.
- Maintenance: Regularly check buckles, zippers, and straps for wear and tear. Promptly address any issues to prolong the pack's lifespan. The PFC-free DWR coating is durable but can be refreshed with a DWR-restoring spray if water repellency diminishes over time.
