Giro Agilis MIPS Road Helmet - Red

MIPS® stands for Multi-directional Impact Protection System. It's a low-friction layer inside the helmet designed to reduce rotational motion transferred to the brain from angled impacts.

A properly fitting helmet should sit level on your head, covering your forehead. The Roc Loc® 5.5 MIPS system should provide a snug, secure fit without excessive pressure. The straps should form a 'Y' below your ears, and the buckle should fasten comfortably under your chin.

The Giro Agilis MIPS is designed primarily for road and multi-surface riding. While it offers good protection and ventilation, it may not meet the specific safety standards or offer the coverage required for more extreme activities like mountain biking or downhill racing.

Helmets are typically recommended to be replaced every 3-5 years, or immediately after any significant impact, even if no visible damage is apparent. Exposure to UV rays, sweat, and general wear can degrade the materials over time.

You should not submerge the helmet in water or use harsh cleaning agents. Clean the exterior with a soft cloth and mild soap and water. The interior padding can often be removed and hand-washed separately.

In-Mold construction involves permanently fusing a tough polycarbonate outer shell to the helmet's EPS foam liner. This process creates a stronger, more resilient structure without adding unnecessary weight and allows for better ventilation design.

Ensure the Roc Loc® 5.5 MIPS dial is fully tightened. Readjust the straps to ensure they are snug but not overly tight. Check that the helmet is sitting level on your head.

Loosen the Roc Loc® 5.5 MIPS dial. Adjust the vertical positioning if applicable. If pressure persists, the helmet may not be the correct size or shape for your head.

Readjust the slider buckles where the straps meet to form a 'Y' below the ears. Ensure the straps are flat against your skin and not twisted.

Ensure the vents are not obstructed by hair or accessories. Clean any debris that might be lodged in the vent channels.
