This jacket is ideal for wet and windy conditions encountered during hiking, walking, climbing, and mountaineering. Its waterproof and breathable features make it suitable for a wide range of outdoor activities where staying dry is crucial.

A 2.5-layer jacket uses a membrane bonded to the face fabric, with a protective print on the inside instead of a separate third lining. This makes it lighter and more packable but generally less durable than a 3-layer jacket, which has a distinct inner lining for enhanced longevity and comfort against the skin.

While the fit is designed to accommodate layers, wearing it over very bulky fleeces might restrict movement. It is best suited for a base layer and a mid-layer like a lighter fleece or a synthetic insulated jacket.

Re-proof the DWR when water no longer beads up on the surface of the fabric and starts to 'wet out'. This typically depends on usage frequency and environmental conditions, but generally, it's recommended every few washes or annually for regular users.

The jacket provides excellent protection against wind and rain, which is crucial in cold conditions. However, it is a shell layer and does not offer inherent insulation. For extreme cold, you will need to layer appropriately with warm mid-layers and base layers underneath.

The jacket has a hydrostatic head (HH) of 20,000mm, indicating its high level of waterproofness. Its breathability (MVTR) is rated at 20,000g/m²/24 hrs, meaning it allows a significant amount of water vapor to escape, keeping you comfortable during exertion.

Ensure pit zips are open when needed. Check that the jacket's internal fabric is clean, as dirt and oils can reduce breathability. Follow care instructions for washing and re-proofing.

Ensure the YKK® AquaGuard® zip is fully closed and the storm flap (if applicable) is correctly positioned. Check the zip for any debris that might be preventing a proper seal.

Familiarize yourself with the drawcords. Ensure they are not twisted and are pulled evenly. The adjustment toggles should slide freely.

Adjust the hook-and-loop fasteners firmly to create a snug fit around your glove gauntlet. For very bulky gloves, try tucking the glove inside the cuff.
