HydroSure End Cap - 1" BSP Male - Pack of 5

BSP stands for British Standard Pipe. '1"' refers to the nominal pipe size, and 'Male' indicates that the threads are on the outside of the fitting, designed to screw into a female (internal) thread of the same size and type.

While made from durable polypropylene, this cap is specifically engineered and tested for the pressures and conditions of irrigation systems. Its suitability for other plumbing applications may vary and is not guaranteed.

This product comes as a pack of five HydroSure End Caps.

Its primary function is to seal off any unused outlets on an irrigation manifold. This ensures that water pressure is maintained throughout the rest of the system, allowing connected sprinklers and emitters to perform optimally.

The polypropylene material offers good resistance to general outdoor elements. However, prolonged direct UV exposure without burial may eventually degrade the plastic over extended periods.

Hand-tighten the cap first until it is snug. Then, use a wrench to tighten it an additional quarter to half turn. Avoid overtightening, which can damage the threads or the cap itself.

Ensure the end cap is tightened sufficiently. Check that the manifold threads are clean and undamaged. Consider applying PTFE tape to the manifold threads before installing the cap if a persistent minor weep occurs.

Verify that you are using a 1" BSP Male threaded outlet. Ensure there is no cross-threading by backing the cap off and re-attempting to screw it on straight. Check for any debris or damage on the threads of both the cap and the outlet.

Inspect the cap for physical damage. If damaged, it must be replaced. Ensure it was not overtightened during installation, as this can stress the material.
