Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: Ensure the off-centre laces are tied securely but not excessively tight. The dynamic fit collar should feel snug around your ankle without restricting movement. Adjust lacing to your preferred comfort level, as this can affect the fit and feel of the boot.
- Break-in: Like all new football boots, the Phantom Luna II Academy may require a short break-in period. Wear them for light training sessions or casual use before competitive matches to allow the materials to conform to your foot shape.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed for Firm Ground (FG) surfaces. This means they are ideal for natural grass pitches that are firm or slightly damp, as well as newer generation artificial grass (AG) pitches. While they can perform on some synthetic surfaces, they are not optimized for very soft, muddy ground or very hard, abrasive artificial turf (where specific AG or SG boots would be more suitable).
Care
To ensure the longevity and performance of your Nike Phantom Luna II Academy boots:
- Cleaning: After each use, wipe off excess mud and dirt with a damp cloth. For tougher grime, use a soft brush and mild soap. Avoid harsh chemicals or machine washing, as these can damage the materials and adhesives.
- Drying: Allow boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not expose them to direct heat sources like radiators or sunlight, as this can cause cracking or shrinking.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place. Using boot trees or stuffing them with newspaper can help maintain their shape and absorb moisture.
- Refer to Product Label: Always check the specific care instructions on the product label for any additional recommendations or warnings.
