Setup, Compatibility & Care
Proper care for your leather hiking shoes will significantly extend their lifespan. To maintain the waterproof performance, ensure the exterior remains clean of mud and debris. If the shoes become heavily soiled, use a soft brush and mild soap to clean the leather after the mud has dried. Avoid using direct heat sources, such as radiators or blow dryers, to dry the shoes, as this can crack or shrink the leather; instead, air dry them in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight. Before long hikes, verify the sizing with your preferred hiking socks to ensure the correct volume inside the shoe. Regularly check the laces and eyelets for wear to maintain a secure fit.
