FAQs

Who are the Callaway Quantum Max OS Irons designed for?

These irons are designed for adult golfers, particularly those seeking game improvement. They are ideal for players who want enhanced forgiveness, easier launch, and more consistent distance across the set.

What is the benefit of the 360-degree undercut cavity?

The 360-degree undercut cavity is engineered to maximize face flex, which leads to faster ball speeds and a higher launch angle. It also contributes to greater forgiveness on off-center strikes.

How does the Progressive Tri-Sole Design work?

The sole geometry is adjusted progressively from the long irons to the wedges. This design promotes cleaner interaction with the turf, helping to maintain clubhead speed through impact and reduce the effects of digging or heavy shots.

What is the role of the Urethane Microspheres?

Urethane Microspheres are integrated into the clubhead to absorb unwanted vibrations at impact. This enhances the feel and sound, providing a softer sensation similar to forged irons while maintaining the performance benefits of a game-improvement design.

Are these irons available for left-handed golfers?

Yes, left-handed availability is noted for most clubs within the Callaway Quantum Max OS Iron set.

What are the available shaft options?

The Quantum Max OS Irons are available with True Temper Denali Frost Silver shafts (in Regular and Stiff flex) and Mitsubishi Chemical Vanquish 50 shafts (R2 flex).

How do the AI-Optimised Face and oversized shape contribute to performance?

The AI-Optimised Face uses impact data to improve ball speed and consistency in launch, spin, and dispersion. The oversized shape is intended to inspire confidence and provide maximum forgiveness, helping golfers achieve higher launch and more consistent strikes.

Troubleshooting

Inconsistent ball flight

Ensure the clubface is clean. Check your swing consistency and ensure proper turf interaction, potentially aided by the progressive tri-sole design. Verify you are using the appropriate shaft flex for your swing speed.

Reduced distance

Confirm the club's loft and lie angles are suited to your game. Check for any debris on the clubface or ball. Ensure a full swing is being executed and that the club is releasing properly through impact.

Unpleasant feel or vibration at impact

The urethane microspheres are designed to minimize vibration. If excessive vibration persists, ensure you are making solid contact. Consider if the shaft flex is appropriate for your swing.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Exceptional forgiveness on off-center strikes
  • Promotes higher launch and consistent carry distances
  • Oversized shape inspires confidence at address
  • Improved turf interaction with progressive sole design
  • Enhanced feel and sound due to urethane microspheres

Cons

  • May offer less shot-shaping workability compared to player's irons
  • Oversized design might not appeal to all golfers aesthetically
  • Primarily targeted at game-improvement segment

Setup, Compatibility & Care

The Callaway Quantum Max OS Irons are designed as a full set, with specifications varying across lofts for optimal performance. For example, the 4-iron has a loft of 18° and a length of 39.125", progressing to a Pitching Wedge (PW) at 41° and 35.75" length. Left-handed availability is noted for most clubs in the set. The irons come equipped with a Lamkin Crossline 360 grip in standard size. Shaft options include True Temper Denali Frost Silver (in Regular and Stiff flex) and Mitsubishi Chemical Vanquish 50 (R2 flex), each offering different weight and launch characteristics.

Care Instructions: To maintain performance and longevity, it is recommended to clean the clubfaces after each use with a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt and debris, which can affect spin and strike. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals. Store clubs in a dry environment, ideally in a golf bag with dividers, to prevent scratching and damage to the clubheads and shafts.
