Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: These coach screws are designed for direct driving. Ensure you are using a compatible hex driver bit for your power tool or wrench. For optimal results and to prevent material splitting, especially in hardwoods, consider a pilot hole that matches the screw's core diameter. When used in masonry, a correctly sized nylon plug must be inserted into the pre-drilled hole before driving the screw.
Compatibility: Compatible with standard hex drive tools (e.g., socket wrenches, impact drivers, power drills with hex chucks). Suitable for use in softwood, hardwood, plywood, MDF, and other man-made boards. For masonry, use in conjunction with appropriate nylon wall plugs.
Care: The zinc-plated and yellow-passivated finish provides good corrosion resistance. To maintain this, store screws in a dry environment. Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture or corrosive substances. Clean any debris from the screws after installation if necessary.
