Designed for both novice and experienced aquarium hobbyists, these Tropica Aegagropila linnaei moss balls offer an effortless way to enhance your tank's aesthetics while naturally improving water quality. These algae spheres serve as excellent nitrate absorbers and provide a safe habitat for small fish and invertebrates. While they are incredibly low-maintenance and thrive in low-light conditions, users should note that they require occasional manual rotation to maintain their signature spherical shape.

No, these are designed to sit freely on the substrate or float. They should not be buried.
Most fish will leave them alone, but some species like goldfish may pick at them. They are non-toxic if consumed.
Yes, you can carefully tear them apart to propagate, though they grow very slowly.
While they can grow up to 10 cm in diameter, their growth is very slow and depends on tank conditions.
They do not require specific fertilization, as they obtain nutrients from the water column.
This is often caused by too much direct light or high temperatures; move the ball to a shaded area of the tank or a cooler section.
Take the ball out during your water change and gently squeeze it in a container of aquarium water to flush out accumulated detritus.
When introducing your Tropica moss balls to your aquarium, it is recommended to gently rinse them in a bucket of tank water to remove any loose debris from shipping. They are highly compatible with virtually all freshwater setups, including those with community fish, shrimp, and snails.
