Setup, Compatibility & Care
For optimal results, plant your Allium Gladiator bulbs in autumn or early winter when the soil is cooling down but not yet frozen. Choose a location that receives full sun and ensure the soil is fertile and well-draining; if you are gardening in heavy clay soil, mix in horticultural grit or sand to improve drainage. Plant the bulbs at a depth roughly three times their diameter. In terms of care, these plants require very little intervention; remove spent flower stalks after blooming, but leave the foliage to die back naturally as this helps feed the bulb for the following year. They are fully hardy, meaning no winter protection is typically required for established bulbs.
