This jacket is primarily a shell layer. For freezing temperatures, it is recommended to layer a warm mid-layer, such as a fleece or insulated jacket, underneath for adequate warmth.

The hood is typically attached by a zipper and possibly snap buttons. Locate these fastenings around the collar and carefully detach the hood.

The drop tail extends coverage at the back of the jacket, offering enhanced protection from water splashes and wind, especially when bending over or sitting.

The frequency depends on usage and washing. It's generally recommended to reapply DWR treatment when you notice water no longer beads up and rolls off the fabric surface, typically every few washes or as needed.

While designed as part of a junior sailing collection and offering good protection, for extreme competitive sailing, you might consider Helly Hansen's more specialized offshore or racing gear, which offers advanced features.

The outer fabric of the jacket is made from 100% polyester.

Wash the jacket following the care instructions and then apply a DWR re-treatment. Ensure no detergent residue remains.

Gently clean the zipper teeth with a soft brush and water. Apply a small amount of wax (like beeswax or a specialized zipper lubricant) to the teeth.

Ensure the hood is correctly aligned and the snap closures are fully engaged. Check for any debris in the snap mechanism.

Ensure all vents (if any) are open and that the jacket's breathable membrane is not clogged. Wash the jacket to clear any residue blocking breathability.
