Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup
Your Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 41 shoes arrive ready to wear. Before your first run:
- Lacing: Ensure laces are tied snugly but not overly tight. Use all eyelets for optimal support. Experiment with different lacing patterns if you experience pressure points.
- Sock Choice: Pair your shoes with performance running socks that wick away moisture for best comfort and to prevent blisters.
- Break-In: While the Pegasus series is known for comfort right out of the box, consider shorter runs initially to allow the shoes to fully adapt to your foot dynamics.
Compatibility
These shoes are primarily designed for road running and light track work. Their excellent grip also makes them suitable for well-maintained paths and paved surfaces. They are compatible with various foot types due to their neutral support profile. The removable insole allows for the integration of custom orthotics if required for specific arch support needs.
Care & Maintenance
Proper care extends the life and performance of your shoes:
- Cleaning: After runs, especially in dirty conditions, gently brush off loose dirt. For deeper cleaning, use a mild soap (like dish soap) mixed with lukewarm water. Use a soft cloth or brush to clean the upper and sole. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Drying: Allow shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not put them in a dryer or expose them to direct heat, as this can damage materials and adhesives.
- Storage: Store shoes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Avoid stuffing them into tight spaces, which can alter their shape.
- Insoles: The removable insoles can be hand-washed separately and air-dried if needed to maintain freshness.
- Rotation: If you run frequently, consider rotating your running shoes to allow the cushioning to fully decompress and recover between uses.
