Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel! is a 2014 action role-playing game developed by 2K Australia and published by 2K Games. It is the third installment in the Borderlands series and serves as a prequel to Borderlands 2. The game is set on Pandora's moon, Elpis, and follows the story of Handsome Jack's rise to power. Players can choose from four new playable characters, each with unique abilities and skill trees. The game features the series' signature looter-shooter gameplay, with a vast array of procedurally generated weapons and gear to collect. It was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 in 2014.
