Setup, Compatibility & Care
For the best results, plant your bulbs during the autumn months in well-drained, fertile soil. Place the bulbs at a depth approximately three times their own height with the pointed end facing upward. If planting in containers, use a loam-based compost mixed with grit to improve drainage. Ensure the planting site receives full sun or partial shade. During the winter, keep the soil moist but not waterlogged. As the foliage emerges in spring, you may apply a general-purpose fertilizer to encourage strong stem development. Once flowering has finished, allow the foliage to die back naturally to nourish the bulb for the following season.
