Setup
Getting started with your Salomon XT-6 is straightforward, primarily focusing on its unique Quicklace® System.
- Donning the Shoes: Slide your foot into the shoe. The integrated OrthoLite® Sockliner is designed for immediate comfort.
- Using Quicklace®: Grasp the Quicklace toggle and pull it upwards firmly to tighten the laces. The laces should feel snug and secure around your foot, without being uncomfortably tight.
- Securing the Toggle: Once tightened, tuck the excess lace and the toggle into the lace pocket located on the tongue of the shoe. This prevents them from snagging on obstacles.
Compatibility
The XT-6 is highly compatible with a range of activities and environments:
- Trail Running: Ideal for various trail types, from technical mountain paths to softer forest floors.
- Hiking & Trekking: Provides excellent support and traction for day hikes and light backpacking.
- Urban & Lifestyle Wear: Its distinct design and comfortable fit make it a popular choice for everyday casual wear and fashion.
- Weather Conditions: Suitable for dry to moderately wet conditions. While the upper offers some protection, it is not fully waterproof.
Care
Proper care extends the life and performance of your XT-6 shoes:
- Cleaning: After use, especially on muddy trails, remove loose dirt by tapping the shoes together. Use a soft brush or damp cloth with mild soap and cold water to clean the upper and outsole. Avoid harsh detergents.
- Drying: Allow shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not expose them to direct heat sources like radiators or direct sunlight, as this can damage materials.
- Storage: Store your shoes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use. Ensure they are clean and dry before storing.
- Lace Maintenance: Periodically check the Quicklace system for any wear or fraying. Replacement kits are available if needed.
