Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Installation of your Harbour Housewares toilet seat is designed to be straightforward. All necessary fixtures and fittings are included in the box.
- Remove Old Seat: Loosen and remove the nuts securing your old toilet seat to the toilet bowl. Lift the old seat away.
- Position New Fittings: Place the new fittings into the holes on the back of your toilet bowl. Ensure they are aligned correctly.
- Attach Seat: Align the seat hinges with the installed fittings. Place the seat onto the bowl.
- Secure Seat: Fasten the nuts from underneath the toilet bowl onto the fittings until the seat is secure. Do not overtighten, as this could damage the fittings or the bowl.

Care
To maintain the quality and longevity of your wooden toilet seat, follow these care guidelines:
- Cleaning: Use a mild, non-abrasive cleaner and a soft, damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive pads, or strong detergents, as these can damage the MDF finish.
- Drying: Always wipe the seat dry immediately after cleaning to prevent moisture absorption into the wood.
- Avoid Excessive Moisture: While MDF is resistant, prolonged exposure to standing water can cause damage. Ensure your bathroom is well-ventilated.
- Regular Checks: Periodically check the tightness of the fittings to ensure the seat remains stable and secure.
