Merrell - Moab Speed 2 GORE-TEX®

The Moab Speed 2 GORE-TEX® is designed for versatile trail use, offering excellent grip and waterproofing. They are well-suited for moderate to challenging terrain. For extremely technical mountaineering or deep snow, specialized footwear might be more appropriate.

Wear them for short periods initially, like around the house or for brief walks. Gradually increase the duration and intensity of your hikes as the shoes begin to conform to your feet.

It is not recommended to machine wash these shoes as it can damage the materials, adhesives, and GORE-TEX® membrane. Hand wash using mild soap and water, and air dry.

The GORE-TEX® membrane is engineered for durability. While the membrane itself remains waterproof, the water repellency of the shoe's upper fabric may decrease over time and can be renewed with appropriate DWR treatments.

The Moab Speed 2 GORE-TEX® incorporates more athletic design principles for improved agility and breathability, inspired by trail running shoes, along with increased cushioning. Traditional Moab boots often offer more ankle support and a stiffer sole for rugged, heavy-duty use.

The Moab Speed 2 GORE-TEX® generally offers a standard fit. While the athletic design provides some flexibility, individuals with very wide feet may find them more comfortable after a break-in period or may prefer to explore Merrell models specifically offered in wide widths.

Ensure laces are snug to prevent water from entering around the tongue. Check for any damage to the GORE-TEX® membrane or upper materials. Moisture could also be from sweat; ensure socks are moisture-wicking.

Clean the outsole tread to remove mud, dirt, or debris that might be hindering grip. Ensure you are on an appropriate surface for the shoe's design; performance may vary on extremely slick or oily surfaces.

Ensure the correct size has been selected. Use the lacing system to adjust the fit, particularly around the heel and midfoot. If the issue persists after a break-in period, consider the possibility of a different fit requirement.

Ensure the shoe's internal lining and laces are clean and free of debris. If using waterproofing treatments on the upper, ensure they do not clog the breathability of the fabric.
