FAQs

Can the shelves be adjusted after assembly?

Yes, the shelves are designed to be removable and adjustable, allowing you to reconfigure the interior layout as your collection grows.

Does this unit come in other colors?

Yes, the HOMCOM storage series is also available in white, grey, and brown variants depending on availability.

Is wall mounting required?

While not strictly required on perfectly level floors, it is highly recommended to wall-mount the unit to prevent tipping accidents.

Can it hold vinyl records?

The unit is optimized for CDs and DVDs. Standard vinyl records are typically too wide for this specific shelf depth.

What is the weight capacity per shelf?

While intended for lightweight media, please distribute weight evenly across the shelves to maintain the integrity of the support pins.

Troubleshooting

Shelves feel wobbly or unstable

Ensure that the shelf support pins are fully inserted into the pre-drilled holes and that each shelf is sitting level across all four pins.

Unit leans or feels top-heavy

Immediately anchor the unit to the wall using the provided safety kit and ensure heavier items are placed on the bottom shelves to lower the center of gravity.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • High storage capacity for massive media libraries
  • Adjustable shelves offer great layout flexibility
  • Space-saving vertical design fits in tight areas
  • Dual-purpose functionality for decor or storage
  • Neutral black finish suits most home environments

Cons

  • Requires full assembly upon arrival
  • Vertical height may require anchoring to the wall for safety
  • Individual shelf stability depends on proper hardware installation

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Assembly of the HOMCOM storage unit involves attaching the vertical panels to the fixed base and top. It is recommended to assemble the unit on a flat surface to ensure proper alignment of the shelf pins.

Compatibility: The unit is designed for indoor use. For safety, it is highly recommended to use the included wall-mounting hardware to anchor the unit to a wall stud, especially in households with children or pets.

Care: Maintain the finish by dusting regularly with a dry, soft cloth. Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners that may damage the black veneer. If shelves become loose over time, verify that the support pins are fully seated in their respective holes.
