Full details
The Speedo Character Swimming Cap is designed specifically for young swimmers who need a reliable and fun accessory for swimming lessons or recreational water play. Its primary benefit is the hair protection it provides against chlorine damage, paired with an easy-to-fit construction that reduces pulling on the hair. While it offers excellent comfort and a charming aesthetic, parents should note that it is crafted from a unique silk-like material which requires gentle handling compared to standard industrial silicone caps.

FAQs
Is this cap made of silicone?
No, this specific model is crafted from a unique, soft silk-like material designed for improved comfort.
Can my child wear this for competitive racing?
This cap is designed for swimming lessons and fun sessions; competitive swimmers typically prefer tighter, racing-grade silicone caps.
How do I prevent the cap from tearing?
Avoid pulling the cap with your fingernails. Use the flat of your hands to stretch it, and remove any sharp hair clips or pins before putting it on.
Does this cap keep hair completely dry?
Swimming caps help minimize water contact, but they are not 100% waterproof. They are designed to protect hair from chemicals rather than keep it bone-dry.
What is the recommended age range for this cap?
The cap is sized for junior swimmers, typically covering ages 4 to 12 depending on head size.
Troubleshooting
Cap keeps slipping off during swimming.
Ensure all hair is tucked completely inside the cap and that it is pulled low enough to cover the hairline and ears.
Cap feels difficult to dry.
Gently pat the inside and outside with a soft, absorbent towel after rinsing before laying it flat to air dry.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure the longevity of your Speedo Character Swimming Cap, follow these care steps:
- Application: Use both hands to open the cap wide, starting from the forehead and pulling it back over the crown of the head.
- Rinsing: Always rinse the cap with cool, fresh water immediately after leaving the pool to remove all traces of chlorine and pool chemicals.
- Drying: Air dry the cap away from direct sunlight or high-heat sources, which can break down the material fibers.
- Storage: Store flat or loosely rolled in a dry area. Avoid folding the cap tightly for long periods, as this may cause creases or material stress.
- Compatibility: Designed specifically for junior swimmers; may not provide a secure fit for older teens or adults with larger head circumferences.
