Care & Maintenance
To keep your white Converse trainers looking their best and extend their lifespan, follow these care instructions:
- Initial Protection: Consider applying a fabric protector spray suitable for canvas shoes to help repel water and stains, especially on the white fabric.
- Spot Cleaning: For minor dirt and scuffs, use a soft brush (like an old toothbrush) and a mild soap solution (e.g., diluted laundry detergent or dish soap). Gently scrub the affected area, then wipe clean with a damp cloth.
- Deep Cleaning (Caution): For more thorough cleaning, hand washing is recommended. Fill a basin with cool water and a small amount of mild detergent. Use a brush to scrub the canvas and rubber sole. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
- Do NOT machine wash: Machine washing can damage the canvas, adhesives, and overall structure of the shoes.
- Avoid harsh chemicals: Bleach or strong cleaners can discolor or damage the fabric.
- Drying: Always air dry your trainers. Stuff them with white paper towels or clean cloths to help absorb moisture and maintain their shape. Avoid direct heat or sunlight, as this can cause yellowing or shrinking.
- Sole Cleaning: Use a magic eraser or a damp cloth with mild soap to clean the rubber soles and toe cap.
- Storage: When not in use, store your trainers in a cool, dry place. If storing for extended periods, ensure they are clean and completely dry to prevent mildew.
