The Regatta Amble Walking Boots feature Hydropel water-resistant technology, which helps to repel water and keep your feet dry in damp conditions and light rain. They are not designed to be fully waterproof for prolonged submersion in deep water.

For synthetic leather, brush off loose dirt when dry. For stubborn dirt or mud, use a damp cloth with a small amount of mild soap (e.g., diluted dish soap). Gently wipe the surface, then rinse with a clean damp cloth. Allow them to air dry naturally away from direct heat.

While the synthetic materials and TECFOAM insock offer comfort out of the box, a short break-in period (e.g., a few short walks) is recommended. This allows the boots to conform to your foot shape and helps identify any potential hot spots before a long hike.

For optimal comfort and moisture management, we recommend wearing moisture-wicking hiking socks made from materials like merino wool or synthetic blends. Avoid cotton socks, as they retain moisture and can lead to blisters.

The boots offer good grip for various terrains and water resistance for damp conditions. However, they do not include specific insulation for extreme cold. For winter hiking in snowy or icy conditions, you may need additional thermal socks or dedicated winter hiking boots with insulation.

The Hydropel water-resistant treatment's effectiveness can diminish over time with wear and repeated cleaning. To maintain performance, you can periodically re-apply a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) spray specifically designed for synthetic footwear, following the product's instructions.

Regatta may offer replacement insoles or universal TECFOAM insoles. If not, the boots are compatible with most aftermarket hiking-specific insoles or orthotics of the same size, allowing for personalized comfort and support if desired.

While equipped with Hydropel water-resistant technology, these boots are not fully waterproof for submersion. Ensure you're not walking through deep puddles or streams consistently. Check that the water isn't entering from the top (e.g., splashing over the ankle) or through worn areas. Consider using gaiters in very wet environments for added protection.

First, ensure you are wearing appropriate hiking socks; cotton socks retain moisture and can cause friction. Re-evaluate your lacing technique to ensure a snug, yet not overly tight, fit. If discomfort persists, consider replacing the TECFOAM insocks with aftermarket orthotics that better suit your foot arch and gait, or allow for a longer break-in period if new.
