Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Surface Preparation: Before application, ensure the surface of the plasterboard joints is clean, dry, and free of dust, grease, or other contaminants. This is critical for the adhesive to perform optimally.
- Application: Unroll the tape and apply it directly to the center of the plasterboard joint. Press firmly along the entire length of the tape to ensure good adhesion. Avoid stretching the tape during application.
- Joint Compound Application: Apply joint compound over the tape promptly. The tape should be fully embedded within the first coat of compound.
Compatibility:
This scrim tape is designed for use with standard plasterboard joints and is compatible with most common joint compounds and plastering systems. Its alkaline-resistant adhesive ensures compatibility with gypsum-based products and typical building environments.
Care:
Store the tape in its original packaging in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. This will help maintain the integrity of the adhesive and the scrim material. Once applied, the tape does not require specific care beyond standard plastering and finishing procedures.
