Dermatix has been shown to flatten, soften and smooth scars, relieve the itching and discomfort of scars as well as reduce the discolouration associated with scars. Dermatix gel is easily applied to all areas of the skin, including the face, joints and flexures, and dries rapidly to form an invisible sheet. Dermatix was developed using the same basic long chain polymers as topical silicone gel sheeting, but it is available in a tube. It contains polysiloxane, silicon dioxide. The gel is supplied in tubes of 15g. Dermatix is used for the management of scars after the wound has healed and the skin surface is intact, and in the prevention of scar development in the form of keloids and hypertrophic scars resulting from general surgical procedures, trauma wounds and burns. Benefits include fast drying, convenience, ease of use, transparency, discretion, suitability for sensitive skin, children, and high-risk patients, maintaining skin's moisture balance, providing elastic protection, suitability for face and joints, no maceration, and semi-permeability. Dermatix visibly improves established and new scars on the face and body, including hypertrophic and keloid scars. While you cannot avoid a scar if the skin has been ruptured, Dermatix can make it less visible, starting use only when the wound has completely healed. Dermatix is clinically proven to improve scars by softening, flattening, and smoothing them, and relieving associated itching and discomfort. Silicone products like Dermatix can significantly reduce scar visibility. Early benefits like reduced itching and discomfort are typically seen within 4-5 weeks, with significant appearance improvements generally requiring a minimum of 2 months of continuous use. Consistent daily application (morning and night) is recommended for optimal results, similar to silicone sheets used up to 23 hours a day. Further benefits may result from extended use. Dermatix is safe for sensitive skin, children, darker skinned people, and pregnant women. Active ingredients are Polysiloxane and Silicon Dioxide. To use, apply a very thin layer to the affected area twice daily on clean, dry skin. Cosmetics can be applied over Dermatix once completely dry. Do not use on broken skin. Avoid contact with eyelids and mucous membranes.
