Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup
- Lacing: Upon first wear, fully unlace the boots. Put them on and begin lacing from the bottom eyelets, pulling firmly but comfortably on each section as you work your way up. Utilize the extended lacing system to customize the fit around your foot and ankle. Double-knot for security.
- First Wear: Wear with thick socks initially to help mold the leather to your foot shape and minimize discomfort during the break-in period.
Compatibility
These boots are a versatile wardrobe staple. Their classic black leather and distinctive silhouette pair well with a wide range of styles, from casual denim and band tees to more dressed-up, edgy ensembles. They are suitable for various seasons, offering good foot protection.
Care Instructions
- Cleaning: Wipe down your boots regularly with a damp cloth to remove dirt and dust. For dried mud or grime, use a soft brush to dislodge particles before wiping.
- Conditioning: Since these boots are made from soft Lunar and Rubber Grain leather, it's important to keep the leather moisturized. Apply a Dr. Martens Wonder Balsam or a good quality leather conditioner every few months, or more frequently if the leather appears dry. This helps prevent cracking and keeps the leather supple.
- Polishing: For a refreshed look and added protection, use a black shoe polish. Apply sparingly with a cloth, let it dry, then buff to a shine.
- Drying: If your boots get wet, stuff them with newspaper to absorb moisture and allow them to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct heat sources like radiators, as this can dry out and damage the leather.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Consider using boot trees to help maintain their shape.
