Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Putting on laceless boots requires a slightly different approach than traditional laced models.
- Prepare: Ensure socks are smooth and free of wrinkles.
- Open: Gently stretch the laceless knit collar opening with both hands.
- Insert Foot: Slide your foot into the boot, wiggling your toes to ensure they reach the front comfortably.
- Heel First: Push your heel down firmly until it locks into place within the boot. You might need to use a shoehorn initially or stretch the collar wider.
- Check Fit: The fit should be snug, like a second skin, without any excessive movement or pinching.
Compatibility
These boots feature an FGMG (Firm Ground/Multi-Ground) soleplate, making them compatible with:
- Firm Natural Grass Pitches: Standard grass fields.
- Artificial Grass Pitches (3G/4G): Modern synthetic pitches with longer blades and rubber infill.
They are not recommended for extremely wet, muddy natural grass (where soft ground studs are needed) or older, abrasive 2G artificial turf.
Care
Proper care extends the life and performance of your boots:
- Cleaning: After each use, wipe off dirt and debris with a damp cloth or soft brush. For stubborn mud, a mild soap solution can be used. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Drying: Allow boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not use direct heat sources like radiators or tumble dryers, as this can damage the materials. Stuffing them with newspaper can help absorb moisture and maintain shape.
- Storage: Store boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Using a boot bag can protect them during transport.
- Inspection: Regularly check for any signs of wear or damage, especially on the soleplate and upper, to address issues early.
