FAQs
Are these suitable for long-distance road running?
These shoes are designed for trails. Using them on hard pavement for long distances will cause premature wear on the specialized lugged outsole.
How do I ensure I have the right fit?
The trainers should feel snug in the midfoot with enough room in the toe box for natural splay; ensure you have about a thumb's width of space at the front.
Can I put these in the dryer?
No, intense heat can compromise the cushioning technology and the shoe adhesives. Always air dry.
Are these shoes waterproof?
The Altra Experience WldLd63 is designed for breathability. While they can handle damp conditions, they are not specifically branded as waterproof.
What is the best way to clean the white exterior?
Use a gentle cloth with mild detergent and warm water. Spot clean immediately after a muddy hike to prevent stains from setting.
Troubleshooting
Slipping on very smooth, wet surfaces
While the lugs are excellent for mud and rock, they may be less effective on smooth, polished surfaces like wet concrete; adjust your stride accordingly.
Difficulty removing mud from the outsole
Use a stiff nylon brush under running water to dislodge debris stuck between the tread lugs.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure the longevity of your Altra Experience WldLd63 trainers, follow these maintenance tips:
- Cleaning: Remove loose mud or debris after each use with a soft brush. If needed, hand wash using mild soap and cold water; avoid the washing machine to protect the integrity of the cushioning materials.
- Drying: Air dry naturally away from direct heat sources like radiators, which can warp the materials or damage the adhesive.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place to prevent mildew and keep the fabric clean.
- Fit: Ensure you use the proper lacing tension to keep the midfoot secure without restricting circulation, particularly on steep downhill sections.
