The Karrimor Sierra Waterproof Jacket is designed for straightforward use and maintenance to ensure its longevity and performance.
Setup
Simply put on the jacket over your chosen base and mid-layers. Pull up the hood when needed and ensure the front zipper is fully closed to maximize protection. The elasticated cuffs provide a snug fit without requiring adjustment.
Compatibility
This jacket is designed for adult males and made from 100% Polyester. It is compatible with various layering systems; wear it over a fleece or thermal base layer for added warmth in cooler conditions, or directly over a t-shirt in milder rain.
Care Instructions
To maintain the jacket's waterproof and breathable properties, proper care is crucial. Always follow the specific instructions on the internal care label.
- Preparation: Before washing, close all zippers and fastenings. Turn the jacket inside out.
- Washing: Machine wash on a gentle cycle at a low temperature (typically 30°C/86°F) using a technical wash specifically designed for waterproof and breathable fabrics. Avoid conventional detergents, fabric softeners, and bleach, as these can damage the DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish and clog the membrane pores.
- Rinsing: Ensure the jacket is thoroughly rinsed to remove all detergent residue.
- Drying: Air dry the jacket naturally on a hanger, away from direct heat or sunlight. Do not tumble dry unless explicitly stated on the care label, as high heat can compromise the fabric's integrity and waterproofing. Allow it to dry completely.
- Re-proofing (Optional): Over time, the DWR finish may wear off, causing the fabric to 'wet out.' If water no longer beads off, you can restore the DWR by applying a suitable technical wash-in or spray-on re-proofing treatment after washing.
