This cast Monkeytail Fastener is reversible, allowing for use on both left and right-handed windows. It is ideal for windows with a draught seal, as the Mortice Plate enables the window to be pulled as far as the seal allows. All Polished Brass products are manufactured to the highest standards and are supplied un-lacquered to maintain their original finish. Regular polishing with a quality metal polish is recommended. Alternatively, if you intend for the surface to age through oxidization, no attention is needed, and the brass will develop a darker, more aged patina over time. The finish is Polished Brass. Dimensions include an overall length of 120mm, handle length of 101mm, fixing plate size of 60mm x 19mm x 5mm, mortice plate size of 78mm x 22mm x 4mm, and hook plate size of 58mm x 12mm x 4mm. It comes with a mortice plate for single windows and a hook plate for use with a central mullion. This product is cast from high-quality solid brass, offering a classic look with its finish. Sold individually, complete with fixings. The Monkeytail collection, inspired by 18th-century design, is the most traditional style. These handmade fasteners are forged from mild steel, providing exceptional strength and character. They feature a reversible design and include a mortice plate. Hook plates are sold separately. Suitable for use with weather-stripped windows and supplied with matching SS wood screws. The Polished Brass products have soft, golden hues and a high reflection depth, perfect for period properties or adding a classic touch to contemporary homes. To restore the finish, polish with a dry cloth and Brasso.
