Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Your Regatta Bayletta II jacket requires no special setup. Simply put it on and adjust it to your comfort. To optimize weather protection:
- Adjust the Hood: Pull the drawcords around the face opening and neck for a snug fit, ensuring maximum protection from wind and rain.
- Secure the Cuffs: Use the hook & loop fasteners on the cuffs to create a tight seal around your wrists, preventing water and cold air from entering.
- Fasten the Zip and Snaps: Ensure the main zipper is fully closed, and the storm flap (if present) is secured with the snap fastenings to block wind and water ingress.
Compatibility
This jacket is designed as an outer layer and is compatible with various mid-layers (e.g., fleeces, thin sweaters) for added warmth in colder conditions. It's suitable for a wide range of everyday and light outdoor activities.
Care Instructions
Proper care will maintain the jacket's waterproof and breathable properties and extend its lifespan. Always check the care label inside the garment for specific instructions.
- Preparation: Before washing, close all zippers and fastenings. Loosen any drawcords.
- Washing: Machine wash cold (typically 30°C) on a gentle cycle. Use a technical wash specifically designed for waterproof outerwear (avoid conventional detergents, fabric softeners, and bleach as these can impair performance).
- Rinsing: Ensure the jacket is thoroughly rinsed to remove all detergent residues.
- Drying: Line dry the jacket away from direct heat. If tumble drying is permitted by the care label, use a low temperature and gentle cycle to reactivate the Durable Water Repellent (DWR) finish. Excessive heat can damage the fabric.
- Re-proofing: Over time, the DWR finish may wear off, causing the fabric to 'wet out' (absorb water rather than bead it). You can restore this by applying a spray-on or wash-in DWR treatment.
