Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup
- Unpack: Remove sandals from packaging.
- Adjust Straps: Unbuckle both straps. Place your foot firmly into the footbed. The goal is to have a small gap in front of your toes and behind your heel, ensuring your foot rests entirely within the footbed's edge.
- Buckle for Comfort: Re-buckle the straps so they are snug but not tight. You should be able to slide a finger easily under the strap. The straps should hold your foot in place without rubbing or creating pressure points.
Compatibility
These sandals are versatile and compatible with a wide range of casual warm-weather attire. They are an excellent complement to summer dresses, shorts, jeans, and casual trousers. While primarily designed for outdoor casual use, they can also serve as comfortable indoor footwear.
Care & Maintenance
Proper care will extend the life and appearance of your suede Birkenstock Arizona sandals:
- Regular Cleaning: For general dirt, gently wipe the suede upper with a clean, damp cloth. For deeper cleaning, use a dedicated suede brush to remove dirt and restore the nap.
- Protect from Water: Suede and the cork footbed are not designed for water exposure. Avoid wearing them in heavy rain, puddles, or wet conditions. If they get wet, let them air dry naturally away from direct heat.
- Stain Treatment: For tougher stains on suede, use a specialized suede cleaner and follow the product's instructions.
- Footbed Care: The cork footbed will naturally darken over time with wear. If necessary, a mild soap solution and a soft brush can be used to gently clean the footbed, then air dry completely.
- Storage: Store your sandals in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use. Consider using shoe trees or stuffing them lightly to help maintain their shape.
- Suede Protector: Applying a high-quality suede protector spray before first wear and periodically thereafter can help repel water and stains.
