Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup Instructions
- Measure: Before purchasing, measure your window width and desired curtain drop to ensure you select the correct size. The curtains should ideally extend beyond the window frame on both sides to minimize light leakage.
- Unpack: Carefully remove the curtains from their packaging. You may notice some creases from packaging; these will often ease with hanging or can be gently steamed (see care).
- Prepare Header: The 3-inch pencil pleat header has multiple cord rows. To create the pleats, gently pull the cords at one end, gathering the fabric to your desired width. Secure the pulled cords with a knot, ensuring they are even.
- Attach Hooks: Insert curtain hooks (not included) into the woven pockets on the back of the pleats. Distribute them evenly for a balanced hang.
- Hang: Hook the curtains onto your chosen curtain pole rings or track gliders. Adjust the pleats and gathers for an even, aesthetic look.
Compatibility
- Curtain Poles: The pencil pleat header is compatible with curtain rings that attach to a pole.
- Curtain Tracks: Can be easily fitted to most standard curtain tracks using appropriate curtain hooks.
Care & Maintenance
> Info needed: Specific washing instructions (e.g., machine wash temperature, dry clean only) are not provided in the product description. Always refer to the care label attached to your specific product.
General Care Tips (Consult care label for specifics):
- Dusting: Regularly dust the curtains with a soft brush or vacuum with an upholstery attachment on a low setting to prevent dust buildup.
- Spot Cleaning: For small marks, gently blot with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Test on an inconspicuous area first.
- Wrinkle Removal: Light creases from packaging can often be removed by hanging the curtains for a few days. For more persistent wrinkles, a handheld garment steamer can be used on a low setting, keeping a safe distance from the fabric. Avoid direct ironing unless specified by the care label.
- Thermal Layering: To maintain the integrity of the thermal layer, avoid harsh cleaning methods or high heat that could damage the bonding.
