Full details
The Salomon XT-6 trainers are designed for individuals who demand high-performance footwear that transitions seamlessly from rugged outdoor trails to urban environments. These trainers excel by offering superior stability and a secure fit through a robust technical mesh construction, though new users should note that the stiff, performance-oriented chassis requires a brief break-in period for optimal comfort.

FAQs
Are these shoes waterproof?
The XT-6 features a technical mesh upper for breathability, but it is not explicitly waterproof.
How do I store the extra lace length?
The tongue of the shoe includes a lace pocket designed to hold the excess lace and the toggle securely.
Can I use these for heavy hiking?
Yes, they are designed for technical terrain and provide excellent traction, though ensure they are properly broken in before long excursions.
Do these run true to size?
Salomon trainers generally fit true to standard athletic sizing, but it is recommended to check the specific size guide for your UK size.
How should I clean the white mesh?
Use a soft-bristled brush and mild soap to spot-clean, avoiding harsh chemicals that may degrade the technical fabric.
Are the insoles removable?
Yes, the internal footbed/insole can be removed for cleaning or replacement with custom orthotics.
Troubleshooting
Quicklace feels too tight or too loose
Adjust the toggle lock position while the shoe is on your foot; pull the lace evenly from both sides before securing the lock.
Accumulation of grit under the insole
Remove the insole, shake out debris, and wipe the inside of the footbed with a damp cloth before reinserting.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Excellent grip on multiple surface types
- Easy and fast adjustment with the Quicklace system
- Highly durable materials for extended longevity
- Versatile aesthetic suitable for trail and street use
Cons
- Requires a break-in period due to firm chassis
- Not intended for extreme high-volume marathon running
- Stiffer feel compared to soft everyday lifestyle sneakers
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure the best fit, adjust the Quicklace system by pulling evenly and tucking the excess lace into the dedicated garage pocket on the tongue. To maintain your XT-6 trainers, remove loose dirt after each use with a soft brush. If the mesh becomes heavily soiled, hand wash them with lukewarm water and a mild detergent, then air dry away from direct heat sources to preserve the integrity of the technical materials.
