Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Prepare the Surface: Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from grease, dirt, or loose paint. Lightly sand glossy surfaces to create a key. For bare wood or metal, a suitable primer may be beneficial, though not always essential with good preparation.
- Stir the Paint: Before use, thoroughly stir the paint to ensure the color and consistency are uniform.
- Application: Apply with a good quality brush or roller. Load the brush moderately to take advantage of the non-drip formula, applying thin, even coats.
Compatibility
This gloss paint is primarily formulated for use on wood and metal surfaces, making it suitable for interior items like bannisters, skirting boards, and window sills, as well as exterior elements such as front doors and garden furniture (when prepared correctly).
Care
- Cleaning Brushes: Clean brushes immediately after use with white spirit or an appropriate brush cleaner.
- Storing Leftover Paint: Tightly seal the paint tin and store it in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and frost, to maintain its quality for future touch-ups.
- Surface Cleaning: Once fully cured, painted surfaces can be gently wiped clean with a damp cloth.
