Setup
Getting started with your Nike Free Metcon 6 is straightforward:
- Unboxing: Remove the shoes from their packaging.
- Lacing: Ensure laces are tied securely but not overly tight, allowing for comfort and support. Adjust based on your foot's width and arch.
- Break-in: While generally comfortable from the start, a short break-in period with lighter workouts may help the shoes conform to your feet.
Compatibility
These shoes are primarily designed for:
- Indoor gym training
- Cross-training workouts (plyometrics, cardio, weightlifting)
- Fitness classes (HIIT, boot camp, aerobics)
They are not primarily designed for:
- Long-distance running
- Technical trail running
- Highly specialized sports requiring specific cleat patterns or rigid sole structures.
Care
Proper care extends the life and maintains the performance of your shoes:
- Cleaning: Use a soft brush or damp cloth with mild soap to clean the upper and sole. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Drying: Air dry your shoes at room temperature, away from direct heat or sunlight, which can damage materials. Do not put them in a dryer.
- Odor Control: Remove insoles to air out after intense workouts. Consider using shoe deodorizers or natural alternatives like baking soda packets.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place. Avoid leaving them in direct sunlight or extreme temperatures.
- Rotation: If you work out frequently, consider rotating between two pairs of training shoes to allow each pair to fully dry and recover.
