Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Setting up your Keter Newton Plus Shed requires preparation to ensure its long-term stability and performance. The most crucial step is preparing a level and stable foundation. The minimum recommended foundation size is `210 x 282cm`.
- Choose Location: Select a flat area in your garden, considering drainage and accessibility.
- Prepare Foundation: A concrete slab, paved area, or a robust timber frame filled with gravel are suitable options. Ensure it is perfectly level.
- Unpack Components: Carefully unpack all parts and lay them out, checking against the instruction manual to ensure everything is present.
- Assemble Base: Begin by assembling the heavy-duty floor panel on your prepared foundation.
- Build Walls: Follow the detailed instructions for assembling the double-wall panels, ensuring each panel locks securely into place.
- Install Windows & Skylight: Integrate the Victorian-style windows and the full-length skylight as per the guide.
- Attach Roof: Assemble and secure the roof sections, including the steel support beams.
- Install Doors: Mount the double doors, ensuring smooth operation and proper alignment.
- Final Checks: Verify all connections are tight and secure, and the shed is stable.
> Assembly typically takes a few hours with two people. Refer to the included instruction manual for detailed, step-by-step guidance.
Compatibility
This shed's modular design offers excellent compatibility with various garden layouts. You can choose to build it as either a `7.5ft (width) x 9ft (depth)` or `9ft (width) x 7.5ft (depth)` shed, allowing it to fit into either narrower or wider spaces. Its modern grey finish is designed to complement most outdoor aesthetics.
Care
The Keter Newton Plus Shed is remarkably low-maintenance, thanks to its Evotech panels.
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the exterior with a mild soap and water solution using a soft brush or cloth. Rinse thoroughly with a garden hose.
- Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or bleach, as these can damage the Evotech material.
- Check Ventilation: Occasionally ensure the built-in ventilation openings are clear of debris to maintain proper airflow.
- Door Maintenance: If doors become stiff, check for debris in the runners and apply a silicone-based lubricant if necessary (avoid oil-based products).
- Snow Removal: While designed to handle snow loads up to 150kg/m2, heavy accumulation should be cleared from the roof to prevent excessive strain, especially during prolonged cold snaps.
