Setup, Compatibility & Care
Before installation, always verify compatibility by checking your vehicle’s owner manual or using an online cross-reference tool to match the MPN (97506) with your specific engine code.
- Preparation: Ensure the engine is cool to the touch. Clean the area around the spark plug well with compressed air to prevent debris from entering the cylinder.
- Installation: Thread the plug by hand to avoid cross-threading the cylinder head. Use a torque wrench to tighten to manufacturer specifications; do not overtighten, as this can damage the trivalent plating or the head threads.
- Care: Do not use abrasive cleaners or wire brushes on the iridium tip, as this will destroy the precious metal coating. The anti-seize coating on the threads is typically pre-applied; adding aftermarket anti-seize paste is generally unnecessary and can lead to incorrect torque readings.
