The Boss RC-202 Loop Station is a compact tabletop unit designed for club performers, electronic musicians, and beatboxers. It offers powerful looping and multi-effects, based on the popular RC-505 Loop Station, with a distinctive fingertip interface. The RC-202 features two stereo tracks, each with dedicated controls and animated status indicators. It provides 64 phrase memories organized into eight banks for easy access during live performances. Loops can be saved to the current phrase memory in real time without interrupting playback, allowing for seamless switching between song structures and evolving arrangements. The unit boasts powerful multi-effects capabilities, offering more real-time processing than other loopers. Four Input FX and four Track FX are available simultaneously, with effects like P. Shift, Lo-Fi, Ring Mod, Beat, Filter, and Slicer for loop creation and playback enhancement. These effects can be adjusted using large, easy-to-grab knobs and controlled via dedicated panel buttons. The RC-202 also includes advanced performance control features with hands-on buttons and knobs. It supports expanded external control via optional footswitches, an expression pedal, and MIDI. Connectivity includes an XLR mic input with phantom power, mono/stereo instrument inputs, and stereo aux input. Additionally, it comes with 17 onboard rhythm patterns, including odd-measure beats, and USB for phrase import/export and DAW integration.
