Full details
The Vans Brooklyn LS trainers are designed for adults seeking a versatile, court-inspired aesthetic that blends heritage design with modern functionality. These shoes provide the reliable grip of the brand's signature waffle outsole and the structural integrity of vulcanized construction, making them ideal for everyday casual wear. One important caveat is that while the shoe features a more accommodating eye row and toe cap for comfort, the vulcanized build is quite firm, meaning it may require a brief break-in period to reach maximum comfort for long-distance walking.

FAQs
Are these shoes suitable for skateboarding?
While they share the vulcanized construction found in many skate shoes, they are primarily designed as a lifestyle trainer.
Do these shoes run true to size?
The Brooklyn LS is designed to be accommodating; however, because they have a specific toe cap, some users prefer their standard Vans size.
Can I put these in the washing machine?
It is not recommended. Machine washing can compromise the vulcanized rubber bonding and degrade the materials.
Are these trainers waterproof?
They are not waterproof. The canvas or textile upper is breathable but will absorb moisture in heavy rain.
What is the primary difference between this and a standard slip-on?
The Brooklyn LS features a lace-up closure for a more customizable, secure fit and a specific court-shoe inspired toe cap.
Troubleshooting
Shoes feel too stiff after purchase
Wear them indoors for short intervals over several days to allow the vulcanized sole and upper materials to flex naturally with your stride.
Visible dirt in the waffle tread
Use a toothpick or a stiff plastic brush to dislodge stones or debris from the deep grooves of the waffle outsole.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your Vans Brooklyn LS trainers stay in top condition, follow these simple care guidelines:
- Cleaning: Use a soft-bristled brush to remove surface dust. For tougher stains, use a mild soap and water solution on a cloth; avoid submerging the shoes in water as this can damage the vulcanized bond.
- Drying: Always air dry your shoes at room temperature away from direct heat sources like radiators or sunlight, which can cause the rubber to warp or fade.
- Lacing: Take advantage of the accommodating eye row by adjusting your lace tightness to match your specific arch height.
- Storage: Keep them in a cool, dry place to prevent mildew and to help the upper material maintain its shape.
